Some stories on the Creepypasta are what you might call short and sweet, so much so that this one is over before you can picture what something would look like wearing your mother’s skin.

You’ll know what we’re talking about once you’ve read it, but don’t go yet, we have saved the best until last.

Creepypasta stories borderline something that may have once been an X-files episode like this tale of the elusive goat man, a shape-shifting being that inhabits the woods of Alabama.

This particular creepypasta isn’t written very well but it does get the point across a group of teenagers spend the night in a trailer by the woods only to find themselves terrorized by a creature known as the goatman.

Like John Carpenter’s The Thing, there is this interesting element of paranoia as the number of people in the group keeps fluctuating leaving the narrator and company to wonder who or what the additional face in the crowd had been.

However, if there’s one thing to be taken from Nancy’s goatman story, it’s that if your father suggests you take a rifle for your excursion in the woods you may want to take him up on that offer.

In this story, we learn right away that the narrator is adopted. He talks about his adoptive family: The loving mother, the strict but decent father, and a sister whom he is protective of.

In the first part of the story, everything seems pretty much normal apart from a few family quirks. However, it then goes into hyperdrive and a lot of blood is spilled at the hands of a madman.

We really can’t tell you much more otherwise we’d spoil the shock ending. That’s why we like this story. We just didn’t expect this particular ending.

7. No End House

This one we think is the best on the Creepypasta Wiki. A heroin junkie convinces his buddy to try to win $500 by agreeing to walk every level of a haunted house.

Ok, we know that sounds a lot like the very real “McKamey Manor” in the U.S., but people don’t get hurt there, not a lot anyway.

What happens next is part psychological horror likely written by someone who likes to smoke a lot of weed, and part McKamey Manor-style horror.

It all gets very weird from there, with the rooms of the house sounding like the days of Sodom from the Marquis de Sade’s seminal book on torture.

Pen pal took creepypasta to new heights by being a series of lengthy short stories that the author Reddit user 1000Bulger’s or Dathan Auerbach eventually turned into a full-length novel that can be found on Amazon.

The novel comprises several short stories, each chronicling a different portion of the narrator’s life, introducing something new and horrifying within each tale from his childhood.

From the search for a missing cat that leads to grim discovery to the unexplained Polaroid, the tales are neatly interwoven to create a truly memorable and enjoyable read that unfolds different pieces of the puzzle that was his childhood.

Jeff the killer is a noseless white-faced man with creepy beady eyes and a Glasgow grin. A kid with an annoying mom who’s likely got a bad case of narcissistic personality disorder, Jeff has his mental problems, too.

The story is said to have been pulled from a local newspaper chronicling a series of unexplained murders and a story told through the eyes of a young boy who is said to have escaped Jeff.

After moving to a ritzy neighborhood with his rather normal parents and brother Jeff starts to harbor intense feelings that manifest in a series of violent attacks against the neighborhood bullies.

After one such attack, Jeff’s face is burnt off sending him into a psychological breakdown. However, he goes on a stabbing spree which ends with his brother.

They say Jeff is still out there and should you ever awake to an ominous figure standing in your doorway just pray he doesn’t utter the simple phrase “just go to sleep.”

4. The Rake

What’s the Rake? Well, it’s a kind of monster, a monster that is occasionally spotted and either causes a person to spoil their underwear or do quite the opposite.

The other reaction is closer to how a person might greet a puppy dog. Evidently, documents that refer to this monstrous being date back to the 12th century.

This is one document from 1880, translated from Spanish: “I have experienced the greatest terror. I see his eyes when I close mine. They are hollow. Black. They saw me and pierced me. His wet hand. I will not sleep. His voice (unintelligible text).”

This is from 1691: “He came to me in my sleep. From the foot of my bed, I felt a sensation. He took everything. We must return to England. We shall not return here again at the request of the Rake.”

What could be scarier than losing your mind? Have you ever been paranoid before? Have you ever thought everyone was out to get you? Maybe they are, maybe they aren’t, it’s the not knowing that is scary.

It’s about a young man who lives alone and is afraid to go outside. He has contact with people, but not so often and only in the form of electronic communications.

However, his isolation begins to bother him. The phone rings and it’s the wrong number. But is it? Outside it’s dark and gray and foreboding, which kind of mirrors what it’s like inside his head.

He tries to go outside but never seems to make it any farther than the hallway. Whenever he looks through the window all he sees are dark clouds and rain.

This tension keeps building, making this story one of the best Creepypasta noir stories. We won’t spoil it for you but will tell you that this man’s diary starts to sound very, very weird.

2. Slender Man

This faceless ghoul known as the Slender Man hunts the young folks who are obsessed with it. It has long arms and is seen wearing a smart suit.

If you get too near this thing what will likely happen is you’ll end up looking like someone has jammed pencils in your ears and thrown boiling water over you.

This story came to life in 2014 when two 12-year-old girls from Wisconsin were playing hide and seek with a third girl. They lured the girl into a wood, whereupon they stabbed her 19 times.

She survived, but only just. Just before the attack one of the girls said to the victim, “Don’t be afraid, I’m only a little kitty cat.” They then proceeded to stab her in multiple areas.

The victim shouted out through her pain, “I hate you! I trusted you!” When the cops interviewed the girls and asked why they’d done such a thing, they both said they did it for the Slender Man.

However, they believed that if they killed the girl, they would be protected by it and be able to live with it as its servants in the forest.

1. The Russian Sleep Experiment

The Russian Sleep Experiment

Like many stories on the wiki, it’s easy to believe that it’s true. It isn’t, but it’s convincing enough. As the story goes, the Soviets were covertly experimenting on people back in the 1940s.

Soldiers in the field needed to stay awake for long periods, so the Soviets were testing a kind of stimulation gas that was sprayed into a containment chamber.

The test subjects were prisoners who were falsely promised that they’d be let go if they completed the 30-day experiment. What happens next is nothing short of horrendous.

Because screaming leads to self-harm. Consequently, self-harm leads to test subjects tearing out their organs. That leads to test subjects engorging themselves on the said organs.
