A hiker claimed he captured a ghost, ‘a thin person with no face’ is spotted in his photograph at Ontario’s Dundas Peak – and his friends can not recreate it.
A mysterious photograph, taken by a hiker in Dundas Peak in Ontario, Canada, has gone viral as people are sure that they can see a ghost.
A hiker who spent the day climbing a Canadian mountain range has been affirmed to have identified a ghost who took the shape of “a slender person with no visible face.”

People believe it’s the ghost of a hiker who went missing in the Dundas Peak a month ago.
So is this really a faceless ghost lurking in the backdrop of a hiker’s photograph?
Where it all began?

After climbing to the top of a mountain range and taking a photo of the view a climber spotted something out of the way. He later posted the spookish image of a bizarro figure hidden in the mountains and the internet went crazy.
It all began when a Reddit user SlicedUpBeef had visited Dundas Peak in Hamilton, Ontario, with his friend after her cousin gone there a few days before.
When SlicedUpBeef got to the top of Dundas Peak, each of them took photos of the other while they posed on the edge of the cliff and uploaded them on Instagram.
Seemingly, he started posting photos of an expedition he took to the beautiful Canadian region and posted this particular picture of himself on Instagram.
At first, it looked like a run-of-the-mill trip happy snap. But then they observed something unsettling in the backdrop.
His friend and her cousin also compared the two pictures – and spotted the original Instagram post had a spooky figure lurking in the backdrop, whereas her photo did not.

Sharing his experience on Reddit he said, “Way below the edge of the trail, where the slope is too steep to stand on, there appears to be a thin person standing constitutionally straight with no visible face.”
“I know you are probably thinking that’s presumably just a brave hiker, but trust me, that spot is completely inaccessible,” SlicedUpBeef simplified on Reddit.
He later added, “Perhaps it is not a person? But I am not sure what else it can be. I was hoping those who have also been to Dundas Peak and have taken a similar picture could share it. Hopefully, we can figure out what the hell we are looking at.”
The pictures went viral on Reddit which led to a huge number of users guessing what the figure could be. The photo had a number of reactions from freaked-out Redditors, with one remarking, “That is creepy as hell.”
While another wrote, “Doing some research online, it looks like people go missing in that area about once a year. I can not find any definitive sauce on that, however. It’s creepy nonetheless.”
Another simply stated “Creepy! It does look like a person.”

Adding to the spooky supposition, users from Reddit alleged that authorities in the area have reported a sharp increase in the number of people who have gone missing on the peak – with most of them never found reported.
Everybody’s interest was promptly stimulated because nothing fires up the internet like a possible ghost.
So SlicedUpBeef and his friends returned to the spot to take some pictures and see whether they could get to the bottom of the conundrum.
However, even though the point and angle were the same, the spooky figure appeared to have vanished. But then the plot thickened.
Presumably, while SlicedUpBeef and her friends were at the location striving to recreate the photo, the light abruptly caught a glimmer of something below them.
The Discovery

On a branch just below the ledge they were settled on, they spotted a set of keys hanging. One of the group lent over and got back the keys to find they were for a Hyundai Elektra.
As they made their way back to the location where they parked their vehicle, they found that their car was parked next to the only other car in the area – a Hyundai Elektra.
The car was dirty and looked like it had been sitting there for a while. As it was getting dark the travelers decided to leave the keys on top of the car roof and made their way home.
But a week later, they saw the car being highlighted on the news. A police report said a female traveler had gone missing in the area and despite her car being found in the car park, her whereabouts were a mystery.
The missing woman was described as a tall and slender figure, wearing a light grey jumper and jeans when she went missing. To make it indeed spookish, that is similar to the figure in the image.

However, skeptics on Reddit had a bunch of alternative arguments as to what created the “figure.”
One Reddit user claimed the shadows on the rock face caused an illusion. However, there was no such rock face in that particular place spotted in other photographs.
Another indicated melting ice was to blame and another explanation indicated pareidolia ( the tendency to see faces or other patterns in ambiguous images). Someone then shared the most probable explanation.
The person wrote, “Sorry to burst all your bubbles, but there’s a trail that leads up to that area and goes around the escarpment just under the rocks. That is, most probably, a person hiking around.”
