In a bizarre outcome, an Australian man with a passion for paranormal stuff sets up a ghost cam to catch ghosts, instead caught his long-time girlfriend cheating on him with his son.

The woman was later sentenced to six months in jail after she pleaded guilty to be associated with the minor.

The Ghost Cam

The Tasmanian Supreme Court noted that the father had set up a ghost camera to capture unworldly activities as he believed that his house was haunted.

He set up a camera in his kitchen which he thought was primarily haunted and started recording the night events.

The man once forgot to turn the camera off while he was away and when he later checked the footage, the ghost cam revealed some other activities that were too much for him.

Unfortunately, the man was distressed to find out that his girlfriend of 11 years was having an illegal affair with his 16-year-old son.

Trial

In the footage, his minor son and his 28-year-old Tasmanian girlfriend can be seen in compromising position.

Though his girlfriend of 11 years initially denied any affair, his son confessed to the authorities that they have been involved since long time.

The 28-year-old woman, who has been in a relationship with the man for the past several years was a “de facto partner” with whom she has a child.

The woman was technically a stepmother of the minor, since she’d known him when he was just nine years old.

Prosecutors said that the affair was only discovered in October last year. The woman went into the stepson’s room to discuss about his driving lessons.

Although the pair had previously had a strained relationship in the past. It all started with some playful gestures, which then led to an illegal affair.

Legal Age of Consent

Justice David Porter said, that although the minor had begun living with her only in 2012, the woman had known him since he was nine and was effectively his stepmother.

Despite having been caught, the woman continued to have an illegal affair with the minor for weeks.

However, at the court hearing, she defended herself that she wasn’t aware of the actual consent age.

Like other states, she thought that the age of consent was 16. Which the court ruled out.

The legal age of consent in Tasmania is 17. Tasmania is an island state of Australia, located to the south of Australia’s mainland.

The woman eventually admitted she is “ashamed and embarrassed at her conduct.”

The woman was initially sentenced to a year in jail. But she could be granted a six-month suspension of her sentence on condition of good behavior.

The woman was visibly shaken, as she cried when the authorities took her away.

Sadly, after he caught his girlfriend cheating on him, the man won’t be setting any ghost cam anymore.

In another incident, a woman caught two witches eating a corpse in her cam fooatge.
